When disasters strike, Queenslanders are quick to lend a hand to get everyone back on their feet.
EV Crew, Volunteering Queensland’s emergency volunteering program, connects everyday people with safe, organised volunteering opportunities through local organisations to support community recovery across Queensland.
Unlike emergency response roles, EV Crew focuses on recovery activities once affected areas have been declared safe. No specialist skills or extensive training are required – just a willingness to help your community.
Join EV Crew today and be ready to help your community recover when it’s needed most. Discover who can join, the types of volunteer activities available and how easy it is to register.
EV Crew is Volunteering Queensland’s community recovery volunteering program. It connects everyday people with local organisations that need volunteer support during disaster recovery.
Unlike emergency response roles, EV Crew focuses on recovery activities once affected areas have been declared safe. No specialist skills or extensive training are required – just a willingness to help your community.
EV Crew activities you can expect to be involved in include:
helping remove debris, clear outdoor areas and support local recovery efforts.
sorting donated clothing, household goods and essential items.
supporting the delivery of donated goods and essential items.
helping at information desks, answering phones, and community support services.
helping prepare, pack or distribute food where needed.
aiding organisations caring for animals affected by disasters.
A Blue Card may be needed for some activities.

The Volunteering Calendar enables organisations to register recovery tasks needed in their community. EV Crew volunteers can then view available tasks and sign up when the calendar is activated during a declared disaster.
